Making the Citrus Syrup: Combine all the ingredients in a pan, bring to a simmer, stirring until the sugar dissolves. After that, turn off the stove allowing it to cool down fully. Decant into a clean bottle, cap it and refrigerate it chilled, where it will keep for up to four weeks.
Preparing the Cocktail Base: Pour the specified liquid ingredients in a large bottle, leave to sit for an hour, then pass it through best through cheesecloth, so it's perfectly clear.
When ready to serve: Add 85ml of your cocktail base into a stirring glass filled with ice, and stir gently for about 60 seconds to chill. Strain to a chilled martini glass or a similar vessel, top with a few cranberries and finish using a light spray of mandarin oil over the drink.
